My name is Tracy Musgrove. I am the mother of 4 very special
children. I have lived in southeast Texas all of my life with the
exception of 2 years spent in Colorado Springs. I had always been
interested in pregnancy and birth, but it was there that I decided to
become a doula. I began my doula work in 2001 and worked
primarily with military wives.
After taking some time off in 2002 following
the birth on my oldest son, I decided to jump back in with my
studies. In 2005, shortly after the birth of my second son, I
found Childbirth International. I joined with CBI as a doula student and a student of childbirth
education. My official doula certification was complete on
February 14, 2007, and my Childbirth Education certification was completed on February 29, 2008.
I have decided to pursue midwifery
training but that will have to wait until my children are older.
While I feel that birth should be a "hands off" event when things are
not complicated, it does not stop me from supporting women who choose
to do things differently than I would. I have a variety of
personal birth experiences myself, and support each woman being able to
make their own choices and decisions regarding their birth.
In addition to my work with pregnancy and
birth, I am the Family Readiness Group Leader for my husbands Texas
Army National Guard battery.
